The New York City Bar Association will host its annual White Collar Crime Institute event at its headquarters in New York City on May 11, 2017. This program will explore the challenges and critical developments that have characterized white collar enforcement over the years. Insights and in-depth perspectives will be provided by senior government enforcement officials, members of the media, and top practitioners in the field. This event will give attendees the opportunity to learn about the unique challenges of handling public corruption cases, recent high-profile trials, future implications for congressional investigations, and the mindset of a whistleblower.
Partner Jordan A. Thomas will participate in a segment titled, “Whistleblower Psychology.” The panel will discuss the psychology behind blowing the whistle, the role of a whistleblower counsel in identifying and vetting whistleblowers, the internal and defense lawyer perspective on navigating a fluid whistleblower-driven investigation, and a qualitative perspective on how the SEC works with whistleblowers.
